Exmouth

Exmouth is a charming, estuary town in South East of Devon. It is known as a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in the middle of an area which has been classified as one of the natural wonders of the world. Exmouth is perfectly located between the Jurassic Coast Nature Reserve (along with its unique red cliffs), the English Riviera and the River Exe Nature Reserve.

Devon's capital city, Exeter, is just a 12 km drive from Exmouth and is a perfect location for a first time visit to England. The area is well known for its all-year-round mild weather and is England's warmest region.

Although Exmouth is not a big town it has all of the essentials needed for proper leisure: a cinema, a theatre, a golf course, entertaining pavilions, sports facilities, swimming pools, famous boat trips to wonderful locations, many night clubs, traditional pubs and exquisite restaurants. Its pedestrianised shopping area is ideal for quality family time. Exmouth's beautiful seafront and beach area alone (over 3 km long) makes the trip more than worthwhile.

Exmouth is also well known as a city of flowers with its Minor Gardens. It's regularly won many "Britain in Bloom" competitions over the years. Also the town hosts the "New Years Eve Fancy Dressing Festival." (one of England's most well known festivals)

The area surrounding Exmouth is rich with attractions. To mention only a few: A la Ronde, Dartmoor Forest National Park with Princetown Prison (where Sherlock Holmes spent a long period of his life), Crearly Adventure Park, World Of A Country Life Centre, Sidmouth town, Budleigh Salterton along with its unique beach, Mini Ponies Centre and Ancient Village Beer.

Exmouth is one of few seaside towns to have a rail link with its own train station next to the Bus Station, which makes it an even more desirable location for any form of tourism, making it easy to reach locations such as Stonehenge, Eden Project, Newquey, Cornwall and even Cardiff.

Rolf Albern empfiehlt mediterrane Raumgestaltung
